Search Scurry County Court Docket

A Scurry County court docket records the events and settings in a Texas court case, but no single county search covers every court. To search the Scurry County court docket, first match the case type to the court and its clerk. District cases begin with the District Clerk, county and probate matters with the County Clerk, and lower-level cases with a justice or municipal court. Official calendar posts, statewide search tools, and direct clerk contact work together. The Scurry County court docket is a starting point for finding a hearing or filing, while the responsible clerk supplies the official case record.

Scurry County Calendar, Not Case Index

Think of the 132nd District Court publication as a calendar shelf. The county posts dated items for selected hearing types. Each card can point to a PDF. There is no field for a party, cause number, offense, lawyer, or date range. Someone expecting a broad Scurry County court record search can be misled. The wrong tool can miss a case.

The District Clerk page also links to docket material, appellate resources, reports, and self-help sources. Its general feed sometimes posts an unreachable notice. The dedicated calendar and direct posts still work. When a county page looks stale, take the direct route. Use the dedicated docket page, open the current PDF, and call the clerk before relying on a setting.

The county's own calendar interface is available at the linked Scurry County docket source.

Scurry County court docket month selector and calendar posts

That official view gives useful dates. Still, a month and a PDF post cannot replace a full Scurry County case index.

What a Court Docket Shows

Scurry County's public PDFs carry the practical fields people use to prepare for court. The arraignment list uses ARR, district-court number, defendant, offense, attorney, and bond columns. The pre-trial sheet adds a hearing date. It also lists a time, a later criminal-jury date, appearance instructions, and a motion deadline. These fields describe the court's work. They point to its next events. They do not, by themselves, establish guilt or a final outcome.

ARR Marks the arraignment list or arraignment setting.
DC. NO. The District Court cause number used to identify the case.
Offense The filed charge label, not proof of conviction.
Attorney Counsel shown for the published setting.
Bond Bond information tied to the listed criminal case.
Setting notice The stated date, time, hearing type, and attendance instructions.

A calendar is only part of the file. A full Scurry County court record may hold pleadings, orders, returns, notices, and other filed papers that never appear on a public calendar. Ask for the docket sheet or case file when the event list falls short.

Scurry County Clerks Split Custody

One local rule carries most of the weight. Start with the clerk who keeps the record. District Clerk Lana Warr holds the 132nd District Court docket. It covers felonies and district-level civil, family, and other matters. County Clerk Melody Appleton keeps constitutional county-court records, along with probate, guardianship, and mental-health work. Each justice court and Snyder Municipal Court keeps its own lower-court docket.

Quick answer: A shared courthouse switchboard does not merge the records. Name the court and case type when requesting a Scurry County docket.

Put the court, the cause number if known, an approximate filing or setting date, the desired document, and a preferred format in any request. Say whether you need inspection, a plain copy, a certified copy, or an appellate clerk's record. That detail lets the clerk quote the right search, copy, certification, delivery, or service charge.

Which Courts Keep Dockets

Texas assigns different jobs to different courts, and that division controls where a Scurry County court docket lives. The county has one general-jurisdiction district court, a constitutional county court, two justice courts, and Snyder's municipal court. Federal matters belong to a separate federal district. They never become county-hosted dockets.

Court Docket covers Where to start
132nd District Court Felony, district civil, family, juvenile, and other district matters District Clerk calendar, clerk, re:SearchTX
Constitutional County Court County misdemeanor, civil, probate, guardianship, mental health County Clerk
JP Precincts 1 and 2 Class C cases, traffic, small claims, eviction, minor civil matters Correct JP office
Snyder Municipal Court City ordinance and concurrent Class C cases, including city traffic City court and citation portal
Northern District of Texas Federal civil and criminal cases PACER or federal CM/ECF

The Texas trial-court overview explains those lines. For federal cases, the Northern District's Lubbock Division and PACER are the right systems.

Scurry County Uses Three Search Layers

Scurry County's searches work in three layers. The first is the county's posted 132nd District Court calendar. The second is the statewide re:SearchTX discovery tool. It can organize results by cases, filings, text, and hearings for participating courts. The third holds the separate lower-court routes, such as Snyder's identity-gated citation and payment portal. eFileTexas connects filings to courts but is not a simple public docket screen.

Each layer answers a different question. A county PDF may be the clearest proof that a hearing was placed on a published list. re:SearchTX can help locate a case or hearing across participating courts. Access there depends on integration, security, and document type. Snyder's vendor page can retrieve a violation when the user supplies the needed citation or identity fields. None of these results is automatically a certified court record.

Finding Court Dates and Settings

Start with the newest official post. Then compare its heading, date, time, and posted date. The Scurry County pre-trial calendar states that dates and times are subject to change. It also tells readers to discuss special settings with the court coordinator. A docket PDF is a public snapshot, not a promise that no reset will occur.

For a district setting, use the posted calendar. Then contact the District Clerk or coordinator. For Snyder Municipal Court, call the city court, because its payment portal is not a public calendar. For a JP matter, identify which precinct received the citation or filing. Then contact that office. The detailed Scurry County court calendar resource covers setting fields and missed-date steps.

Note: A current clerk confirmation is the safest source. Use one when an appearance is near or a posted setting seems inconsistent.

When a Scurry County Search Is Blank

A blank screen has several usual causes. Maybe you queried the wrong clerk or the wrong court. Maybe the date coverage is thin. The name may be misspelled, or a security rule may have stepped in. A public user can also land on a case pointer. The underlying document can still stay out of view. Juvenile, child-related, mental-health, guardianship, sealed, and protected personal information all carry access limits. Never call a matter sealed unless a clerk or a court order confirms that status.

Work the problem step by step. Try a known cause number. Check the correct month, and confirm the court participates in the statewide route. Expected a district calendar item? Look at the direct PDF posts. For county, probate, JP, or municipal matters, leave the district calendar behind. Use that court's custodian instead. The right move is a precise clerk request, not a hunt through unofficial people-finder sites.

Public Access to Dockets

Texas court access comes in layers. Court case records answer to court rules, statutes, common law, and case-specific orders. Judicial administrative records can fall under Texas Rule of Judicial Administration 12. County administrative records may use Texas Government Code Chapter 552, the Texas Public Information Act. That chapter is not a label for every court-file request.

Key access rules:

Texas Judiciary open-records policy distinguishes case records, judicial records, and administrative records.

Rule of Judicial Administration 12 sets access rules and exceptions for judicial records.

Texas Government Code Chapter 552 applies to covered government records, not as a substitute for court-file procedure.

Rules require redaction of protected identifiers. A public docket may show that an event occurred without displaying every filed value. If part of a record is withheld, ask the custodian which authority applies and whether a redacted, inspectable version exists.

Scurry County Caseload in Context

OCA statistics measure workload, not the fate of any named case. In fiscal year 2025, Scurry district courts opened with 851 active pending matters, added 596, disposed 498, and closed the year at 727 active pending. The criminal subset added 198 and disposed 170. Constitutional county-court criminal activity added 494 and disposed 555. Its civil line added 52 and disposed 2.

596district cases added in FY 2025
498district cases disposed in FY 2025
727district active pending at year end

Those totals explain why a Scurry County calendar holds many settings. They also show why filed, disposed, inactive, and pending are distinct labels. Never use them to infer the outcome of an individual Scurry County court docket.

The Clerk and Docket Records

The District Clerk sits at 1806 25th Street, Suite 402, Snyder, Texas 79549. The OCA directory lists (325) 573-5641. The county publishes scurrydc@co.scurry.tx.us. A countywide notice effective April 16, 2026 consolidated courthouse calls to (325) 573-9316. So the newer switchboard and an older direct listing may both appear in official sources.

Call ahead about inspection rules, current counter hours, document format, turnaround, and payment methods. The office makes no official promise of a public courthouse terminal. Same-day copies and a routine mail or dropbox process are likewise unconfirmed.

Scurry County Copies and Certification

A docket view is one product. An ordinary copy, a certified copy, and an appellate record are three more, and each is separate. The County Clerk publishes local civil and probate schedules. Statewide sources publish other court costs. The probate schedule lists copies at $1. It describes certified copies as $1 per page plus certification. Treat that probate schedule as its own document, not a universal District Clerk copy price.

Ask the correct clerk to quote the current amount for the exact record. State up front whether a seal or certification is required. Say how the copy should be delivered, too. re:SearchTX materials generally describe eligible public documents at ten cents per page with a one-dollar minimum. Portal purchase terms still do not replace a clerk's certified copy. Certification comes only from the office that maintains the original.

The Scurry County Courthouse Record Map

The Scurry County Courthouse at 1806 25th Street groups the District Clerk, County Clerk, county judge, and other offices under one roof. The JP courts sit apart, at 1300 26th Street in separate suites. Snyder Municipal Court meets at City Hall, 1925 24th Street. That physical split mirrors the docket split. The Scurry County Historical Commission describes the courthouse square as the civic heart and a stop on a marker trail.

Scurry County courthouse square history and court record context

The historic square makes a fine landmark. Still, the name of the court and custodian decides which door holds the record.

Court Dockets by City in Scurry County

Snyder is the Scurry County seat. It is also the only incorporated city with a place in the official coverage for this build. The 2020 Census counted 11,438 people in Snyder. The July 2025 estimate was 11,166. Hermleigh and Ira appear as communities without separate incorporated city governments in the active Texas Comptroller taxing-unit directory, so no municipal-court pages exist for them.

Snyder Court Docket

Snyder Municipal Court handles city ordinance and concurrent Class C cases, including city traffic citations.

Search Snyder court docket routes

Snyder's citation system runs separately from the Scurry County District Clerk calendar. A county, district, or JP case needs the matching county-level route.

No official source confirms a public courthouse terminal, parking arrangement, or security-screening procedure, so call ahead about access and accommodation needs. Since April 16, 2026 the courthouse consolidated its office phones to one switchboard number, so a call may route through that shared line rather than the older suite-specific listing.
