Searching Cases by Name
There is no single countywide name search in Scurry County. The District Court Docket works as a month-filtered calendar of hearing cards with PDF attachments. That helps when you already know the likely month. It offers no party-name, cause-number, offense, or date-range fields. So a name-based Scurry County case search really starts on re:SearchTX for a participating court. Otherwise it starts with the clerk holding the case.
The official re:SearchTX guide covers keyword and advanced search. It also walks through filters and the separate cases, filings, text, and hearings views. Narrow results by Scurry County, court, case type, and date. Open the case description before assuming you have the right matter. A public result is only a pointer. It is not a certified record.
- Identify the district, county, justice, or municipal court.
- Choose cases or hearings in re:SearchTX.
- Enter the name and narrow the filters.
- Compare known facts with the case description.
- Ask the custodian to verify the match.
| Field | Type | Required | Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Keyword | Text | No | Broad search |
| County or court | Filter | No | Narrows to Scurry |
| Case type | Filter | No | Limits categories |
| Date | Filter | No | Limits the period |
Scurry County Calendar Search
The county calendar answers one focused question. What has been placed on a published 132nd District Court setting? Pick Select month and hit Go. Then scan the cards for arraignment, pre-trial, motion-to-revoke, or motion-to-adjudicate settings. Each card may lead to a static PDF. Keep the post date and filename too. A revised list can replace an earlier version.
A calendar PDF is not a complete Scurry County case search. What you get is an event roster labeled with DC. NO., case style, offense, attorney, and bond. The pre-trial sheet warns that dates and times may change. Confirm urgent settings with the District Clerk or coordinator.
Searching by Case Number
A cause number usually beats a name as a search key. Type the exact identifier into re:SearchTX. Or read it to the clerk holding the file. Scurry County's public calendar labels the district identifier DC. NO.. The numbers follow no fixed pattern, so never guess year codes or prefixes. Copy the number straight from the citation, pleading, notice, or calendar.
If nothing comes back, check the spaces and confirm the court. A district number belongs with the District Clerk. Probate and county matters go to the County Clerk. JP and Snyder Municipal Court numbers stay with those courts.
Scurry County Portal Tabs
re:SearchTX splits its results into cases, filings, text, and hearings. Cases take you to matter detail, while filings focus on document events. Hearings lead to event detail. Text search runs only where security and indexed material permit. The official guide also covers saved searches and exports.
- Case
- The matter-level result.
- Filing
- An indexed document event.
- Hearing
- A scheduled court event.
- Export
- Saved result data, not clerk certification.
You may need registration or eFileTexas credentials. Eligible public documents generally cost ten cents per page with a one-dollar minimum, subject to access and availability limits.
What a Case Search Returns
A Scurry County case search can return case, filing, or hearing detail, and the depth varies. A county PDF may list an event without every filing or signed order. A statewide result can identify a case while withholding a document from public download.
| Cause number | The court identifier. |
|---|---|
| Case style | The caption or parties. |
| Event type | Arraignment, pre-trial, or hearing. |
| Date | A post, filing, or hearing date. |
| Detail | Available information, not proof of final status. |
Clerk-issued documents themselves fall under Scurry County court records.
Scurry County Clerk Split
Lana Warr is the District Clerk. She keeps 132nd District Court felony, district civil, family, and other district records. County Clerk Melody Appleton handles constitutional county-court, probate, guardianship, and mental-health work. Each justice court and Snyder Municipal Court keeps its own lower-court docket. Ask the wrong office. You may hear "not our record" even in the right county.
EagleWeb indexes official records, assumed names, marriages, and land records. Its disclaimer calls the index a convenience. It does not certify authenticity. It is not the District Court case search. The JP pages give contacts but no public search form.
Statewide vs County Case Search
The county page is best for selected district settings by month. re:SearchTX is broader. It can discover participating cases, filings, and hearings across Texas, though coverage is not universal, and OCA notes limits in public criminal-document coverage.
| re:SearchTX | County calendar |
|---|---|
| Participating Texas courts | Selected district settings |
| Keywords and filters | Month selector |
| Cases, filings, hearings | Static PDFs |
| Broad discovery | Known setting period |
When Scurry Searches Fail
A blank screen can mean the wrong court. It can also mean the wrong date range, a spelling slip, an integration gap, a restricted document, or a criminal-document limit. Confirm the court, try the exact cause number, compare the county calendar with re:SearchTX, and contact the clerk.
Snyder's citation form currently allows citation number plus birth date, driver-license fields plus birth date, or Social Security number plus birth date. Name, business, and vehicle searches are disabled. It is an identity-gated violation and payment route, not a public defendant list.
Tell a current post from an archived one, too. The county's direct docket articles and PDFs are the dependable links. The general District Clerk feed may fail to load. A saved old PDF can stay available long after a setting changes. Compare its posted date, filename, revised wording, the current month page, and any newer court notice. Does a case carry an immediate appearance duty? Ask the District Clerk or coordinator whether it was disposed, reset, or specially set. Calendar silence never proves dismissal.
Access and Restricted Cases
Court files answer to a different law than most public records. The Texas Public Information Act drives executive branch disclosures. Case files follow common law, statutes, court rules, orders, and clerk procedures instead. Other judicial records fall under Texas Rule of Judicial Administration 12.
Some entries simply will not be there. Juvenile matters and protected identifiers may be absent. Some family, mental-health, guardianship, sealed evidence, and restricted documents may be missing or redacted too. A portal can show a pointer to a filing without offering a download. Ask whether a public redacted copy exists, and what authority limits the rest.
Scurry County Search Support
The official re:SearchTX portal lists support at research.support@tylertech.com and 844-307-8720. Support can explain registration, filters, saved searches, exports, and portal controls. It cannot certify a Scurry County file, decide whether a document is confidential, or replace the court that entered an order. For an access question about a case document, move from platform support to the responsible local custodian.
The District Clerk is at 1806 25th Street, Suite 402, Snyder, Texas 79549. The county publishes scurrydc@co.scurry.tx.us; OCA lists (325) 573-5641, while the current courthouse switchboard is (325) 573-9316. State the court, cause number, approximate filing or setting date, exact document, and whether inspection, a plain copy, or a certified copy is sought. Phone routing changed in 2026, so a call ahead is sensible.
County Clerk requests go to Suite 300 at the same courthouse, and OCA lists (325) 573-5332. JP1 and JP2 are at 1300 26th Street in separate suites and share the annex number, (325) 573-5406. Snyder Municipal Court maintains its own citation records at 1925 24th Street and publishes (325) 573-4958 and court@snydertx.gov. These channels matter because no public terminal policy, universal mail process, or single county records email was found. Ask each custodian about format, redaction, fees, delivery, and current counter procedure before sending funds or private identifiers.
